An estate cleanout usually comes at the worst possible time, often with family spread across different states and a house that has to be empty before it can be sold. We do this work regularly across Bend and Central Oregon, and we have learned to do it slowly where it matters and fast where it does not.
Before anything is loaded we walk the home with whoever is making the decisions, in person or over a video call if the family is out of the area. Keepsakes, paperwork, photos and anything earmarked for relatives are set aside and clearly tagged. Then the crew works through the house, garage and outbuildings, separating what can be donated from what is truly done.
Usable furniture, kitchenware, books and clothing go to local donation centers rather than the landfill. It keeps the disposal cost down, and most families tell us it matters to them that the things were used again. We can provide a receipt for donated items on request.
When we are finished the home is broom clean and ready for the realtor, the cleaners or the next step. A typical three bedroom estate is one to two full trailer loads. If you are an executor working to a court or listing date, tell us the date and we will book around it.
A lot of Bend estates are handled by family who live in Portland, California or further. We can do the walkthrough over a video call, send photos of anything we are unsure about before it is loaded, and ship or hold small items the family wants. The house gets emptied without anyone needing to fly in, and you get photos of every finished room.
You pay by how much room the load takes in our 14 foot dump trailer. Labor, the truck and dump fees are included, and you get the number on site before anything is loaded.
